Are you finding yourself caught between caring for your children and caring for your aging parents? Do you feel like everyone needs something from you, yet there is little time or space to tend to your own needs?
Perhaps you're supporting a parent with dementia and grieving the gradual loss of the person you once knew. Maybe your children have left for college or are becoming more independent, leaving you to navigate an unfamiliar season of motherhood. At the same time, you may be balancing a career, a marriage, and countless responsibilities while trying to be the strong one for everyone around you.
If this sounds familiar, you are not alone.
Many women in this stage of life experience feelings of sadness, anxiety, guilt, exhaustion, resentment, loneliness, and anticipatory grief. You may feel torn between competing responsibilities, struggling to be present for your family while quietly carrying the emotional weight of it all. There are moments when it can feel overwhelming, isolating, and difficult to know where to turn.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Grief & Loss Specialist, I understand the unique challenges of the sandwich generation, both professionally and personally.
As a wife, mother of college-aged children, and daughter navigating my own mother's journey with advanced dementia, I know what it feels like to be pulled in multiple directions. Balancing marriage, parenting, career responsibilities, and the emotional weight of caring for an aging parent can leave little time or energy for yourself.
I've experienced the guilt, grief, difficult decisions, and emotional exhaustion that come with watching a parent change while trying to remain present for everyone else. I understand how easy it is to lose sight of your own needs when you're constantly caring for others.
My personal experience, combined with my clinical training, shapes the compassionate, judgment-free support I offer women navigating caregiver burnout, anticipatory grief, shifting family roles, and major life transitions.
You deserve the same care, compassion, and support you so freely give to others. You don't have to carry it all alone.
My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you can set down what you have been carrying and focus on your own healing and well-being. Together, we can process grief, navigate life transitions, strengthen relationships, establish healthy boundaries, and help you reconnect with yourself during a season that often asks so much of you.
You do not have to wait until you are completely overwhelmed to seek support. In fact, therapy can be one of the most valuable investments you make in yourself during this chapter of life. It offers a space to be heard, understood, and supported without judgment—a place where your needs matter, too.
