Hello and warmest of welcomes! My name is Taylor Hane and I'm an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist here at Village Wellness Center. First, I am human, then therapist. I like to approach most things with genuine curiosity, humility, grace, and authenticity while valuing a strong therapeutic alliance. Navigating the journey of life can be both challenging, rewarding and everything in between and I am here to offer support and guidance towards growth through trained skills, fresh perspectives, and much more. Above everything, I passionately enjoy working with people and utilizing my strengths/skills to help others feel empowered in their lives. By providing a safe environment and exploring connections, emotions, meaning, impairments, etc., we can work together to meet your needs and goals!
I have an integrated approach to therapy that pulls from different theoretical orientations (such as CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, etc.) for a tailored model specific to the client and their goals. Working with adults, children, adolescents, families and couples has been very insightful and I truly enjoy working with a variety of populations. Working alongside clients to help build their self esteem, explore traumas, implement mindfulness, teach coping skills and provide tools is very important to me. Clinically, I like to tap into client's resilience and bring self awareness to the forefront by providing psychoeducation that the client can take with them through life. Therapy can be intimidating and foreign to most and I truly commend you for taking the first step at getting comfortable with the uncomfortable!
A little bit about me :) I grew up in the South Bay as the oldest sibling of 3 girls. I have a passion for sports (both watching and playing!) and grew up playing most sports but soccer was my main focus. I am half Greek and grew up heavily involved in the Greek community (yes this includes competitively Greek dancing and lots of Greek weddings!). I have lived in Orange County for years and consider this home. When I am not doing what I love as a therapist, I love to read and visit book stores, get some sun at the beach, have game nights with friends, and spend time outside for some physical activity. I am so grateful for a strong sense of community and support system through my friends and family.
I received my bachelor's degree in Mass Communication studies from Concordia University Irvine with an emphasis in Public Relations. Upon graduating I began working in the field of Public Relations and really enjoyed the creative challenge, writing opportunities, and most of all....working with people! While I enjoyed this field, I wanted to utilize my strengths with people in a more fulfilling way and I chose to go back to grad school and pivot slightly to the field of psychology. I was doing a lot of self work and navigating adversity myself and found that therapy was a great tool for me on my own journey. I received my master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I am a member of the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology.
I look forward to hearing from you to see if we are a good fit and begin working towards your goals and creating a healthy, happy life!
